Terms of Service
Last updated: 09 March 2026
These terms apply to services provided by Crawford Software Works, including websites, software, databases and ongoing maintenance.
Quotes & contracts
Work typically begins after a quote is accepted and a contract is agreed. Any timelines are estimates unless stated otherwise.
Revisions & changes
- The first draft includes one free major revision if Crawford Software Works has clearly misunderstood the agreed brief or specification.
- Any further major design or code changes are charged at £600 per major change.
- Minor revisions are still allowed within reason for cosmetic updates such as colours, fonts, wording, spacing, and small styling tweaks.
- New features, redesigns, rebuilds, scope changes, or major code changes are not standard revisions and will be costed separately.
Bug fixes
Any bugs found during or after deployment within 3 months are fixed free, provided the issue relates to the delivered work and has not been caused by third-party changes, hosting changes, or unauthorised modifications.
Hardware & third-party costs
Any hardware required must be paid up front before purchase. Third-party costs (domains, hosting, licences) are usually paid directly by the client unless agreed otherwise.
Client responsibilities
You agree to provide timely access, content, and approvals needed to deliver the work, and you confirm you have rights to any content you provide.
Intellectual property
Unless otherwise agreed, you receive a licence to use the delivered work for your business once paid. Reusable libraries, tooling and generic components remain ours.
Refunds
Because our work is custom and time-based, refunds are not normally available once work has started, a draft has been produced, or any design, development, database, setup, consultation, or technical work has been carried out.
Any deposit paid is non-refundable once work has begun, as it covers reserved time, planning, and initial work undertaken.
If a project is cancelled by the client after work has started, Crawford Software Works reserves the right to invoice for all work completed up to the cancellation date, including planning, design, development, revisions, troubleshooting, research, setup, and any third-party costs already committed.
If no work has started, any refund is entirely at the discretion of Crawford Software Works and may be reduced to reflect administration time, payment processing fees, and any direct costs already incurred.
Where Crawford Software Works is unable to deliver the agreed service for reasons within our control, any refund will be limited to the undelivered part of the work.
Liability
We are not liable for indirect losses. Our total liability is limited to fees paid for the relevant work, except where law does not allow such limitation.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom.
