Crawford Software Works
Project Policies, Revisions and Refunds
Default project policies for Crawford Software Works website, software, database and support work.
Project policies
Project Policies, Revisions and Refunds
These terms apply to custom website, software, database and support work unless a written quote or contract states otherwise.
Crawford Software Works is a small sole-trader business, so project time, planning time and reserved delivery slots need clear rules before work starts.
Revision policy
What is included in the first draft?
Your first draft includes one free major revision if Crawford Software Works has got the agreed brief wrong.
Further major design or code changes are charged at £600 per major change.
Cosmetic changes such as colours, fonts, wording, spacing and small styling tweaks are allowed within reason.
Bugs found during delivery or within 3 months after deployment are fixed free of charge.
Major changes
What counts as a major change?
A major change means a substantial change to the agreed design, functionality, structure, scope or code.
New features or scope changes are treated as additional work.
Design direction
A substantially different layout, style or structure after a brief has been agreed.
New functionality
Features, integrations, portals, automation or workflows that were not part of the agreed scope.
Code or data changes
Substantial rebuilds, database changes or technical changes caused by a change in direction.
Refund policy
How refunds and deposits work
Because Crawford Software Works services are custom-built and time-based, refunds are generally not available once work has started.
Deposits are non-refundable once work has begun or project time has been reserved.
If a project is cancelled after work has started, completed work and costs incurred up to that point remain chargeable.
If Crawford Software Works cannot complete the agreed service due solely to its own fault, any refund will be limited to the undelivered part of the work.
Written quote or contract
When a written quote says something different
If a written quote or contract includes project-specific terms, those written terms take priority for that project.
This page gives the default position for custom website, software, database and support work, so clients can understand the usual approach before asking for a quote.
